Submarines Lawyer

Job Description:

The Senior Legal Counsel will provide legal support and advice to all functions within the Submarines business, including negotiating, advising on, and managing contractual arrangements with the UK MoD and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and support on regulatory issues, including nuclear, health and safety, product liability, and export controls.
• Drive improvements in business processes and participate in delivery training on legal and contractual issues.
• Manage, support, and develop more junior members of the Submarines Legal team.

Requirements:

• A background in commercial and/or corporate law with expertise and experience in a broad span of the law and contracting.
• Comfortable working in regulatory environments where rules are not always clear and which demand pragmatic, defensible decisions.
• Demonstrable experience of assisting in complex high-value commercial contracts.
