Key Responsibilities: As a Mechanical Engineer Assistant, you will contribute significantly to the successful operation of our workshops.

  • Carry out scheduled vehicle service and repair work with precision and attention to detail.
  • Diagnose defects in vehicles and provide comprehensive reports for further analysis.
  • Maintain high labour productivity by completing jobs within allocated timeframes.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure adherence to workshop Health & Safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Be accountable for daily equipment maintenance and notify the team of any issues that arise.
  • Embed a culture of quality and efficiency within the workshop by adhering to established processes.
  • Work closely with the Centre to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain work details and address their queries.
  • Provide clear technical explanations and build strong relationships with customers.
  • Support and mentor apprentice technicians to foster their growth and development.
  • Offer guidance and assistance to colleagues as needed.
  • Attend manufacturer training sessions to stay updated on the latest technologies and techniques.
  • Report technical issues and manage customer data in compliance with GDPR regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Hold a Level 3 vehicle technician competence certificate.

The estimated annual salary for this role is £50,000-£75,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
