About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our board as a Governors for Schools Chair. This role requires someone who is passionate about education and committed to making a positive impact on children's lives.

As a member of our board, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the school leadership team and Local Authority Officers to drive educational excellence and deliver high standards of education and school experience for children.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the board in setting the school's strategic direction and vision\
  • Work closely with the school leadership team to develop and implement effective governance structures\
  • Collaborate with Local Authority Officers to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies\
  • Maintain open and transparent communication with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders\
  • Ensure that the school's finances are managed effectively and efficiently\
  • Represent the school at local and national events and conferences\
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and mutual respect within the board and across the federation\
  • Engage with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to promote the school's values and goals\
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in education governance\
  • Promote the school's brand and reputation through social media and other channels\
  • Provide guidance and support to the school leadership team as needed\
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies\
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance governance skills and knowledge\
  • Manage conflicts of interest and maintain confidentiality when required\
  • Perform other duties as reasonably requested by the chair or headteacher

Salary Range: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on location and experience)
