We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Teacher Assessor to join our team at Havering Adult College. As a Specialist Teacher Assessor, you will play a key role in promoting the college's extensive range of Teaching Assistant and Early Years focused provision.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will involve working with the curriculum manager to plan, create, deliver, and assess a range of new and established courses from Level 1 to Level 3. You will support learners during their courses, help develop their confidence, and ensure assessment records are kept up-to-date, targets are met, and meaningful feedback is provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, create, deliver, and assess courses from Level 1 to Level 3
  • Support learners during their courses and help develop their confidence
  • Ensure assessment records are kept up-to-date, targets are met, and meaningful feedback is provided
  • Work with the curriculum manager to promote the college's extensive range of Teaching Assistant and Early Years focused provision
Requirements
  • Extensive experience of teaching Teaching Assistant and/or Early Years courses
  • Experience of using MS Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience of working within deadlines
  • Experience of mentoring
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • A Level 4 Teaching Qualification for post-compulsory settings (e.g. CTLLS or CET)
  • GCSE Grade 9 - 5 English and maths qualifications (or equivalent)
Desirable Criteria
  • Assessor Certificate (Level 3)
  • Experience of working with a range of diverse and challenging learner groups
  • Experience of undertaking internal quality assurance
  • Knowledge of the local area and the community
