The role of a Learning Support Assistant is varied and requires a high level of flexibility and adaptability. You will work with students on a 1-to-1 basis, in small groups or with general assistance for whole classes, providing support with academic work, personal care, and social skills. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive behavior and attitudes towards learning.

We are looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, and able to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents. You will be a team player, able to work collaboratively with others to achieve shared goals and objectives. If you are passionate about working with young people and making a positive difference in their lives, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with their academic work, including homework and projects
  • Assist with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and administering medication
  • Help students develop social skills, including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Promote positive behavior and attitudes towards learning

Requirements:

  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
