About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Industrial Equipment Mechanic Work Leaders at RAF Lakenheath as a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading maintenance tasks and teams, with a focus on water treatment and distribution systems, industrial waste treatment equipment, and collection systems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and train teams in performing all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Overhaul and repair various types of equipment in water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Plan and lay out work from blueprints, sketches, specifications, and work orders.
  • Make templates, jigs, and other fixtures required for repair or installation.
  • Utilise safety practises and procedures.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical and Electrical Engineer with experience in leading maintenance tasks and teams, as well as expertise in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. You will hold a BTEC Level 3 / City and Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and have a valid driver's license (Category B). You will also need to undertake a pre-employment physical (including immunisations) for this role.
