About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pupil Support Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Pupil Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a healthy, inclusive learning environment that supports each student's journey to reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide critical support to students with Additional Needs, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), to improve their learning experiences, well-being, and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and implement support strategies tailored to individual needs, ensuring all students are fully engaged and encouraged.
  • Support students in overcoming learning challenges, building their confidence, and promoting positive behaviours.
  • Assist with classroom activities, helping to manage resources and ensure the learning environment remains safe and organised.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, reporting insights to teachers and other professionals as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and carers to foster an inclusive, supportive educational environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect positively with students, teachers, and families.
  • Understanding of SEN best practices and a commitment to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience, with an adaptable approach to meet the varying demands of the role.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
