About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Southampton. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and well-being of students, promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group work support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with the school's SENCO and other professionals to create tailored intervention plans that meet the needs of students with diverse requirements.
  • Contribute to the overall well-being of students, promoting a positive school ethos and supporting the development of essential life skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational setting, with a strong understanding of behaviour management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs, with a commitment to promoting inclusion and equality.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or psychology, with a strong understanding of child development and learning theories.
