About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Maths Graduate to join our team as a Maths Teaching Assistant in Barnet. As a Maths Academic Mentor, you will be supporting gifted and struggling GCSE and A-Level students with their learning; leading 1:1 and group sessions to improve academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with their Maths learning, leading 1:1 and group sessions to improve academic achievement
  • Teach GCSE and A-Level students, requiring competence in Maths
  • Secure a long-term work placement with teacher training as an option
  • Help students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and inspire all students to achieve the best grades
  • Teacher Training opportunities are available from this year if this is something you'd be interested in
About You
  • A Maths Teaching Assistant should have a First-Class degree in Mathematics from a top-20 University
  • A Maths Teaching Assistant should be passionate about helping students through mentoring and teaching
  • If a Maths Teaching Assistant has child-facing experience/experience with behaviour management, it would be advantageous
  • Can be a role model for students wanting to go to Oxbridge and other top Universities
  • Has a good work ethic and subject knowledge
  • Can confidently assist with Maths and Further Maths up to A-Level
