Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 3–19 with complex needs, including autism (ASD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and challenging behavior.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to individuals, adapting your approach to meet their unique needs and help them reach their potential.
  • Promote independence by empowering children to develop essential life skills and build confidence.
  • Use creative strategies to encourage active participation and progress.
  • Apply excellent de-escalation techniques to create a calm and safe learning environment.
  • Assist with personal care needs where necessary, ensuring dignity and respect.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • Good English and Mathematics skills are desirable.
  • Previous experience with personal care or manual handling is advantageous.
