Job Summary:

We're seeking an exceptional Director of Adult Social Care and Health to lead our transformation efforts, shaping the future of adult social care in Nottingham. As a seasoned leader, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing service strategies that align with our corporate priorities and vision.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement service strategies that drive improvement, enhance health and well-being, and promote customer-focused delivery.
  • Building Partnerships: Foster collaborative relationships across sectors, creating integrated health and social care services that meet the complex needs of our community.
  • Driving Operational Excellence: Oversee service design, performance management, and financial accountability, ensuring resources are managed effectively.
  • Community Leadership: Represent Nottingham City Council, enhancing the city's reputation through innovative community partnerships and championing adult social care initiatives.
  • Budgetary Management: Manage budgetary constraints, ensuring effective allocation of resources within the department.

  • Visionary Leadership: Experience in leading the development of customer-focused service strategies, prioritising service user voices, and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: The ability to build strong partnerships across sectors, fostering a networked governance model that enhances service delivery.
  • Operational Excellence: A proven track record in overseeing service performance, managing resources effectively, and driving operational improvements.
  • Community Engagement: A deep understanding of the importance of community partnerships, safeguarding practices, and vulnerable adults' needs.
  • Transformation Experience: Proven experience in leading major change initiatives, advancing service improvements, and addressing complex issues such as mental health, learning disability services, and housing solutions.
  • Extensive Social Work Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience as a qualified Social Worker, with a proven track record in the field.
