Job Overview

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to each student's learning and personal development.

  • Regularly assess and record student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed, and provide feedback to parents, guardians, and the senior leadership team.

  • Implement and uphold the school's behavior policy, using positive reinforcement and specialized strategies to support students' emotional and social needs.

  • Stay informed of best practices and new SEN teaching strategies, participating in relevant training and workshops to enhance your professional skill set.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience working in an SEN setting, with a track record of adapting teaching for diverse needs and demonstrating patience, creativity, and empathy.

  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, particularly for ASD, ADHD, and other complex needs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective behavior management skills, and adaptability to dynamic classroom environments.

Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for progression and continuous professional development. You will also have access to well-resourced facilities tailored for SEN education and work in a supportive and collaborative working environment.
