About the Role

MacTaggart Scott is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our Engineering Design department.

This is a key role that reports directly to the Principal Engineer and is responsible for delivering high-quality analysis and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement analysis methodologies and plans to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineers to resolve design challenges through analysis and technical documentation.
  • Manage and maintain the company's analysis tools, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective.
  • Organize and present internal Peer Reviews to ensure high-quality analysis and documentation.
  • Create analysis work packages for Design Engineers and authorize analysis deliverables.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a relevant Apprenticeship with HNC.
  • Technical expertise in static and transient finite element analysis.
  • A proven track record of verification and validation of analysis through empirical data, traditional hand calculations, material testing, etc.
  • A flair for problem-solving and innovation, with a flexible approach to work activities.
  • Experience in creating and checking technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
