Maintenance Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a state-of-the-art food processing facility in Houghton Regis. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the electrical and mechanical maintenance of the factory's equipment, including troubleshooting PLC systems, addressing breakdowns, and performing planned and preventative maintenance on food process and packaging machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fault Finding and Repair: Identify and repair faults in food processing and packaging machinery to minimize downtime and ensure optimal production levels.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Adhere to scheduled maintenance routines to prevent equipment failures and ensure the smooth operation of the factory.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance maintenance procedures and equipment performance.

Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering Qualification: Hold a recognized qualification in electrical engineering, such as a BTECH/ONC or equivalent multi-skilled engineering qualification.
  • Electrical Bias: Preference will be given to candidates with electrical bias.
  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude: Possess a strong understanding of mechanical principles and be able to apply this knowledge to maintenance tasks.
  • PLC Fault Finding and Maintenance: Have experience with PLC fault finding and maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • BTECH/ONC in Electrical Discipline: Hold a BTECH/ONC in electrical discipline or equivalent multi-skilled engineering qualification.
  • C&G 2330 Level 3 Electro-Technical Certificate: Possess a C&G 2330 Level 3 electro-technical certificate with NVQ 3 in electrical maintenance.
  • Time-Served Apprenticeship: Have completed a time-served apprenticeship.
  • HNC in Electrical, Mechanical, or Production Maintenance Engineering: Hold an HNC in electrical, mechanical, or production maintenance engineering.
