About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Participation Officer to join our team at Slough Borough Council.

As a Participation Officer, you will play a key role in supporting care-experienced young people to have their voices heard and their experiences valued. You will work closely with our team to develop and deliver innovative participation initiatives that create real change and improve outcomes for young people.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people, colleagues, and stakeholders. You will be passionate about community engagement and have a proven track record of delivering successful participation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver participation initiatives that engage care-experienced young people and promote their voices and experiences
  • Work closely with young people, colleagues, and stakeholders to design and deliver participation projects
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with young people, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote participation and engagement
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of participation initiatives and make recommendations for improvement

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of working with care-experienced young people and delivering participation initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with young people, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Passion for community engagement and a commitment to making a positive difference
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
