We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Aqumen Recruitment. This is a hands-on role that involves working closely with operations teams and contractors to ensure day-to-day maintenance tasks are completed safely and effectively.

This role offers the opportunity to continuously develop and improve maintenance systems, ensuring they comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the workshop, tools, and consumables.
  • Managing spares inventory and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure availability of essential spares, and secure storage of critical long-lead-time spares.
  • Performing and recording all daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with the maintenance schedule.
  • Providing guidance and training to operators for routine reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Reviewing and developing maintenance plans, improving strategies as experience with the equipment grows.
  • Providing flexible cover for staff shortages and attending call-outs to address breakdowns.

The ideal candidate will have an apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, proven ability to fault-find and repair low-voltage electrical equipment, and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance environment, with expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. A team player, capable of educating others on the importance of plant maintenance, is essential for this role. Mobile plant operating certificates, such as Counterbalance FLT or Front End Loader, are also desirable.
