About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic School Catering Assistant to join our team at Oak Tree School in Truro. As a key member of our catering team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality food and excellent customer service to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook food for students and staff, ensuring a high standard of quality and presentation.
  • Assist the catering manager in the day-to-day management of the catering service, including food procurement, supplier relationships, and stock control.
  • Ensure that all food hygiene and health and safety standards are met, and that the catering area is maintained to a high standard.
  • Work collaboratively with the catering team to provide a seamless and efficient service.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu ideas and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a catering or food service environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and school holidays.
