We are seeking an experienced Genetic Counsellor to join our team at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing genetic counselling to patients, particularly in the areas of prenatal genetics and rare diseases.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide genetic counselling to patients and their families
- Conduct genetic assessments and provide recommendations for patients
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Participate in the development and implementation of genetic counselling services
- Genetic Counsellor Registration with the GCRB, HCPC or equivalent overseas GC register
- Several years of professional clinical experience as a Genetic Counsellor
- Experience of leadership of a team, project or development
- Experience of education and training within genomics, including supervision of trainee genetic counsellors
