The role of Clinical Psychologist at Schoen Clinic Chelsea involves delivering high-quality therapeutic services to patients with Eating Disorders and/or Anxiety and Mood Disorders. The post holder will be responsible for an allocated number of patients, conducting therapeutic assessments and interventions. The successful candidate will work with children, young people, and adults, and will be expected to have regular clinical supervision and be up to date with the latest evidenced-based interventions.

The Psychologist/Psychotherapist will be part of the multidisciplinary team and will work closely with the Assistant Psychologists, Service Manager, and Quality Management team to ensure the delivery of excellent care and treatment. The role will involve overseeing, managing, and supervising the Assistant Psychologists or Therapy Assistants, as well as contributing to the development and delivery of the group/day programme.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a range of skills and competencies in conducting specialist assessments to inform psychological formulation and therapeutic interventions. They will also be able to apply knowledge of psychological theories to health and social care, and will have the ability to evaluate their own practice and use routine outcome measures in clinically meaningful ways.

Key duties of the role include:

  • Offering high-quality therapeutic services at Schoen Clinic Chelsea
  • Participating as part of the multidisciplinary team in the development and delivery of the group/day programme
  • Working with the Service Manager and Pathway Lead to continuously improve services in line with service growth and national guidance
  • Supporting research projects in the field of eating, anxiety, and depression disorders
  • Completing psychological assessments with patients and attending multidisciplinary team meetings to review each patient on a regular basis
  • Assessing risk and developing a management plan for the psychological components of care and treatment
  • Reviewing developmental history and care plan treatment accordingly, acting as a key worker for your clinical caseload and to some of the day patients
  • Developing, delivering, and monitoring the treatment programme with the multidisciplinary team
  • Continuing to develop and practice with good cultural competency and consideration of equality, diversity, and inclusion for all in practice
  • Supporting and developing the design, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic interventions in accordance with best practice
  • Clinically supervising Assistant Psychologists and/or other clinical colleagues as appropriate
