We're seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to lead our refurbishment projects at Brindleyplace, Birmingham, and provide strategic advice to our Asset Management team. This role will involve managing project delivery, conducting pre-acquisition due diligence, and advising on refurbishment costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project delivery, ensuring timely and budget-friendly completion
  • Conduct pre-acquisition due diligence, reviewing building and M&E surveys
  • Advise on refurbishment costs, preparing business plans and managing projects
  • Appoint and manage consultants, inspect properties, and negotiate settlements for dilapidations claims
  • Provide expert advice on building-related matters, such as tenant alterations and repairs
  • Oversee planning processes, collaborate with external consultants, and liaise with authorities
  • Lead professional project teams, implementing statutory procedures like Stopping Up processes
  • Prepare design and contract documentation, manage tendering, contract administration, and financial control through to completion
  • Ensure compliance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
  • Coordinate with our internal project management team for effective scheme handover and management

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in building surveying within commercial property management
  • Assertive leadership, guiding external consultants and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a results-driven approach to delivering challenging projects
  • MRICS qualification or equivalent in building or project management
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and project management skills
  • A commitment to health and safety, financial compliance, and commercial awareness
