Senior Sister/Charge Nurse

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting the continued development of our Emergency Department at Darent Valley Hospital. This will involve working alongside the existing Band 7 Senior Sister team to lead, support junior staff, and maintain a safe running of the department.
The post will require the candidate to work across all areas of the emergency department, including day and night shifts, and to manage a multi-disciplinary team. This will involve ensuring mandatory training, appraisals, and human resource issues are dealt with.
The post holder will also be responsible for providing professional leadership, teaching of junior staff and students, and managing and coordinating the ED department to ensure patient flow remains active and safe.
Additionally, the post holder will be expected to actively contribute to the directorate and trust-wide nursing projects, and to be available to patients, carers, and their families as required.

- Emergency Care Qualification
- Recognised mentorship course
- Advanced Life Support/Intermediate Life Support course
- Evidence of continuing clinical & professional development
