Job Title: Nature Conservation Manager

Job Category: Environmental Services

Eden Brown is seeking a highly skilled Nature Conservation Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a forward-thinking organization in the Environmental and Sustainability directorate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of Islington's Ecology Centre, three Local Nature Reserves, and the Nature Conservation Team. The Ecology Centre is a busy and successful community resource, delivering a high-quality program of environmental education, events, and volunteering as well as providing a venue for meetings and community activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement comprehensive nature conservation strategies to protect biodiversity, habitats, and ecosystems.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders, including government bodies, non-profit organizations, and community groups, to foster partnerships that promote sustainable land use and conservation efforts.
  3. Manage and monitor field projects to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices.
  4. Lead and mentor a team of conservation specialists and volunteers to drive impactful outcomes.
  5. Conduct research and surveys to assess habitat conditions and wildlife populations.
  6. Initiate public education campaigns to raise awareness about conservation issues and engage the community in proactive measures.
  7. Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders and funding agencies.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in environmental science, conservation biology, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in conservation management or similar roles.
  3. Strong leadership skills with experience in team management.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  5. Proficiency in project management and strategic planning.
  6. Knowledge of relevant environmental laws and regulations.
  7. Ability to work in diverse environments and adapt to changing conditions.
