CMM Programmer and Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled CMM Programmer and Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Career Makers. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and performing quality inspections across a variety of manufactured components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, write, and modify programs for CMM to inspect components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Operate the CMM to inspect parts, ensuring dimensional accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
  • Analyse and interpret CMM data, generating detailed reports and communicating findings to relevant teams.
Quality Inspection:
  • Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections using CMM as well as other measuring tools such as callipers, micrometres, gauges, and height stands.
  • Inspect components against technical drawings, customer specifications, and industry standards.
  • Ensure all products conform to company quality standards and ISO guidelines.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of measurement data, including non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to production teams on quality improvements.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for defective parts.
Calibration and Maintenance:
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CMM equipment to ensure precision and reliability.
  • Ensure measuring instruments are properly calibrated and maintain calibration records.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of inspection processes and techniques to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in quality control and continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of [Insert Number] years of experience in CMM programming and quality inspection within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in programming and operating CMM machines (e.g., Zeiss, Hexagon, Mitutoyo) using PC-DMIS, CALYPSO, or other relevant software.
  • Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with ISO quality standards and industry-specific requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma, certification, or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Control, or a related field.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to quality control.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience with manual inspection techniques and traditional measuring instruments.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (desirable).
