Job Title: Poppy Appeal Manager, Cardiff and Gwent

Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for fundraising and community engagement? Do you have a knack for building relationships and driving results? We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Poppy Appeal Manager to join our team in Cardiff and Gwent.

About the Role:
  • Lead the Poppy Appeal in Cardiff and Gwent, achieving income, expenditure, and contribution targets.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Poppy Appeal Manager to create and manage an income and expenditure budget, providing monthly commentary.
  • Coordinate local supporters, partners, and volunteers, building relationships to maximise fundraising potential.
  • Represent the Royal British Legion locally, engaging in outreach activities and providing updates to key stakeholders.
  • Travel regularly throughout the region, with occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the Poppy Appeal in Cardiff and Gwent.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with local supporters, partners, and volunteers, ensuring their engagement and commitment to the appeal.
  3. Manage a portfolio of regional corporate partnerships, collaborating with internal departments to achieve collective goals.
  4. Recruit and induct new Poppy Appeal Organisers, providing them with the tools and resources for success.
  5. Plan and coordinate the Poppy Appeal launch, including PR and media activities, to contribute to the appeal's overall impact.
Requirements:
  • Commercial knowledge and financial management skills.
  • Experience in supporter relationship management and fundraising.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and IT skills.
  • Ability to assess the commercial implications of decisions.
  • Effective communication skills, both in writing and verbally.
