Job Summary:

Internews Network is seeking a highly skilled Finance and Administration Officer to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for processing accounts payable transactions, maintaining vendor records, and providing support for commitment accounting and purchase order monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable transactions in the accounting system and maintain accounts payable files for vendors.
  • Subject matter expert on Unit 4 ERP System Vendor Master File and accounts payable, providing support to other Internews staff.
  • Maintain AP vendor master records in accounting system.
  • Support commitment accounting and purchase order monitoring.
  • Maintain Asset Register, including additions and disposals, monthly depreciation calculation, and posting journals into the accounting system.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations, including Payroll and Bank Reconciliations, before month-end close.
  • Debtor and Creditor reconciliations and Advances (Cards) before month-end close.
  • Income & Expenditure Recording in the accounting system.
  • Providing support during Statutory and Donor Audits.
  • Fixed Asset Management.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years progressively complex accounting experience.
  • Intermediate expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to international locations, including challenging or remote locations up to 10% of the time.
  • Accounting Degree or Qualified by experience.
  • Familiarity with computers and computer software, including spreadsheets, word processors, e-mail, and accounting systems.
