About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join our team in Newcastle. As an Early Career Teacher (ECT), you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students in Maths, while also developing your teaching skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching Maths to GCSE and A-Level standards
  • Delivering high-quality lessons that cater to a range of abilities
  • Using creative teaching methods to make Maths accessible and enjoyable for all students
  • Participating in extracurricular activities that enhance the learning experience
  • Working closely with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the school community
  • Contributing to the development of an innovative and challenging Maths curriculum
  • Utilizing a variety of teaching tools, including ICT and online resources, to captivate and motivate students
  • Upholding the school's ethos and behaviour management policies to promote a positive learning environment
  • Encouraging students to develop independent learning skills and a love for Maths
  • Actively participating in staff development days, meetings, and parents' evenings as required
Requirements
  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Be able to teach Maths to GCSE and A-Level standards
  • A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • A desire to continually improve your teaching practice through feedback and professional development
  • Provide two professional references from within the last two years that relate to your teaching
  • Be a committed educator who understands how special educational needs affect the teaching and learning methods used by young people
  • Possess an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to have one processed immediately
