Work Environment

You will join a dynamic and ambitious team within our company, working on a recently created entity focused on New Build projects in the UK. Our team is responsible for the design and detailing of reinforced concrete structures for the Nuclear Island of Hinkley Point C, a major construction project.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a globally recognized project, utilizing the latest technology and digital construction methods, including 3D BIM rebar modeling. You will be part of a collaborative team, working closely with experienced professionals to deliver high-quality results.

Job Profile

We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our team, working on the design and construction of the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant. As part of the Joint Design Office, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing and treating site change requests, ensuring design intent, project specifications, and deadlines are met;
  2. Supporting the Civil Team in optimizing the design received from the Back Office;
  3. Coordinating with the drafting team to implement design modifications in 3D models and 2D drawings;
  4. Evaluating Non-Conformance Reports from the civil works contractor and assessing proposed repair solutions or additional measures;
  5. Conducting quick assessments on reinforced concrete issues (hand calculations);
  6. Communicating with the back-office team as necessary;
Essential Experience

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  1. A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with at least 3 years of experience in the field;
  2. Experience in reinforced concrete calculation and design;
  3. Experience in nuclear or complex industrial projects;
  4. Experience in reinforced concrete detailing;
  5. Self-motivation to improve personal performance and generate innovative solutions to challenges;
  6. A willingness to take on new challenges, learn, and support others within the team.
