PMLD Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual support to children with PMLD and Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis.
- Assist Teachers in teaching and learning, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Support colleagues in undertaking personal care-related tasks, ensuring the well-being and safety of all students.
- Collaborate with other teaching and support staff to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Adhere to the school's policies, including Safeguarding, Child Protection, Behaviour Management, and Health and Safety.
- Experience of supporting children with PMLD and SEN on a 1:1 basis.
- At least 3 months of experience working with Special Needs children as a Teaching Assistant.
- A proven track record of supporting students with complex needs, individually or as part of a team, in a demanding and multi-disciplinary environment.
- A commitment to working with children with special educational needs.
- Ability to manage confrontation and challenging behavior.
- Ability to adapt and respond to children's needs and plan accordingly.
- Caring, friendly, and patient demeanor.
- Passion for working with children with Special Needs.
- Ability to creatively contribute to the development of students.
- Registration of attendance and supervision of learners before, during, or after school sessions as appropriate.
- Collaboration with others to develop effective professional relationships.
- Dependability, punctuality, and a hardworking attitude.
- All applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, and Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our stringent safeguarding policy.
- Your CV must cover all education and employment history where possible, and all employment breaks must be explained.
