About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual support to children with PMLD and Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis.
  • Assist Teachers in teaching and learning, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support colleagues in undertaking personal care-related tasks, ensuring the well-being and safety of all students.
  • Collaborate with other teaching and support staff to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Adhere to the school's policies, including Safeguarding, Child Protection, Behaviour Management, and Health and Safety.
Requirements
  • Experience of supporting children with PMLD and SEN on a 1:1 basis.
  • At least 3 months of experience working with Special Needs children as a Teaching Assistant.
  • A proven track record of supporting students with complex needs, individually or as part of a team, in a demanding and multi-disciplinary environment.
  • A commitment to working with children with special educational needs.
  • Ability to manage confrontation and challenging behavior.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to children's needs and plan accordingly.
  • Caring, friendly, and patient demeanor.
  • Passion for working with children with Special Needs.
  • Ability to creatively contribute to the development of students.
  • Registration of attendance and supervision of learners before, during, or after school sessions as appropriate.
  • Collaboration with others to develop effective professional relationships.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and a hardworking attitude.
