Job Description: Mechanical Drafter Specialist

We are seeking an experienced mechanical drafter specialist to join our dynamic team in King's Lynn. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and developing new products using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor software. Your expertise in CAD software and technical drawing will enable us to deliver high-quality products to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and drafting: Produce detailed drawings from customer sketches, applying appropriate tolerances.
  2. Reverse engineering: Measure supplied parts and create drawings for reproduction, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  3. On-site surveys: Conduct site visits to assess and meet engineering needs, collaborating with customers and stakeholders.
  4. Customer liaison: Communicate effectively with customers to understand and clarify technical requirements, providing solutions and recommendations.
  5. Engineering calculations: Perform complex calculations for material densities, motor requirements, and sealing solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  6. 3D CAM modeling: Provide 3D model data for use in the machine shop, optimizing production processes and reducing costs.
  7. Laser/profiling support: Create DXF drawings, reverse engineer samples, and produce folding drawings, enhancing product quality and functionality.

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum
