About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Professional to join our team at Hastings Direct. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and review month-end consolidation adjustments for the Hastings Insurance Group, adhering to IFRS17 standards.
  2. Calculate share-based payments charges and liabilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Produce and review month-end journals for Hastings and all holding entities within the Group, including accruals and provisions.
  4. Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to finalize month-end results, providing insightful commentary on financial performance.
  5. Develop and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or anomalies.
  6. Provide data and support to external auditors, ensuring a smooth audit process.
Requirements
  1. Hold a professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
  2. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  3. Have intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, with experience in data analysis and visualization.
  4. Exhibit excellent reconciliation skills and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and precision.
