Midwife - Birth Centre Core Midwife

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated midwife to join our team at the Singleton Unit Birth Centre. As a core midwife, you will play a vital role in providing holistic, personalized care to women and birthing people in our newly reopened unit.
Main Duties- Be part of the core team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring dynamic risk assessments for women, birthing people, and staff are effective.
- Maintain a high standard of midwifery care through planning, implementing, and evaluating the needs of all women and birthing people to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality care.
- Confidently provide care throughout the pregnancy continuum, with a specific focus on intrapartum and postnatal care.
- Demonstrate competencies in undertaking waterbirths, perineal repair, and cannulation.
- Recognize and manage obstetric emergencies and transfers to the labour ward setting with confidence.
- Contribute to the development of the midwife role by participating in leadership, research, audit, education, training, and clinical practice.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous record-keeping.
- Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure evidence-based midwifery practice.
- Participate in a helping hand on-call roster to support the unit during escalation.
- Exhibit leadership skills for midwifery staff within the department, maintaining clinical and professional competence.
