We are seeking a skilled Commercial Procurement Specialist to join our AJ Bell Commercial team. The successful candidate will support the Head of Commercial Finance and other business areas in managing supplier contracts, cost control, and establishing commercial relationships with suppliers.

The ideal candidate will be able to operate independently, using their own initiative, while working with colleagues at all levels across the business and with external partners.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring information assurance in relation to supplier contract documentation.
  • Assessing and analyzing existing and potential group suppliers.
  • Developing and maintaining external commercial relationships.
  • Reviewing and negotiating existing, new, and renewal contracts.
  • Assisting in controlling the Group's external cost base.
  • Liaising with Cost Centre managers regarding contract management and cost control.
  • Reviewing existing, new, and renewal contracts to ensure value and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintaining the group Contract Register (JIRA).
  • Undertaking initial and/or ongoing financial due diligence, reporting any financial risks as appropriate.
  • Ensuring appropriate management information is collated to facilitate effective oversight of third-party financial risks.

About you:

  • Experience in direct engagement with external partners/suppliers on commercial and contractual matters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • IT literacy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and prioritize work.
  • Understanding of and interest in macroeconomics.
  • CIPS Qualified or studying towards qualification.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to influence, challenge, and negotiate with a wide range of knowledgeable stakeholders, including suppliers and colleagues up to board level.
  • Good knowledge of contract law and managing risk.
