Procurement Specialist

An exceptional opportunity with a global manufacturing organisation in the area and established client, to join their professional Purchasing Team of 13, as a SENIOR BUYER.
Key Responsibilities:- Sourcing, negotiating and contracting for specified spend categories, on behalf of user departments.
- Developing effective business partnerships with suppliers and internal customers.
- Managing the commercial relationship between the Project Management Office team and external suppliers on specific projects.
- Conducting supplier performance management reviews.
- Negotiating prices and terms, and maintaining the Procurement Management System (SAP).
- CIPS qualification desirable or other Professional Qualification.
- Good education.
- Significant procurement experience with a track record of delivering cost improvement.
- Strong understanding of end to end Supply Chain, and SRM process.
- A good technical understanding of procurement within Pharma, Food Supplements and/or Cosmetics industries.
- Proficient user of SAP or similar ERP system, and general competency in MS Office.
- Previous experience working within a multi-national business and cross functional teamwork.
- Excellent English (both written and spoken) with any other language skills beneficial.
- A strong team player.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good project management skills, able to work on multiple complex projects.
- Proven ability to deliver YOY cost improvements.
- A skilled negotiator covering cost, relationship and contracts.
- Exposure to commodity management and project sourcing.
- Time management and work to deadlines.
- The ability to influence.
- Focus on continuous improvement and digitally savvy.
- A "can do" attitude and a desire to continually improve.
