HGV Class 1 Driver Role

Working Hours and Shifts

We are seeking a motivated Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team in Warrington, working for a leading industry brand. The successful candidate will be required to work any 5 days out of 7, with shifts averaging 8-10 hours. The working hours are from 12:00pm to 18:00pm, with the possibility of overtime.

Pay and Benefits

The pay rate for this role is £16.00 - £21.28 per hour, with a higher rate applicable for certain shifts. The benefits of being a HGV Class 1 Driver with our company include:

Job Responsibilities

As a HGV Class 1 Driver, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Completing 2-4 store deliveries per shift
  • Ensuring all loads are safe and secure
  • Collections of recycling from depots may be required
  • Carrying out vehicle inspections and reporting any faults to management
  • Ensuring deliveries are made in a timely manner
  • Communicating any issues or delays effectively
  • Abiding by all working time rules and regulations
  • Trunking work may also be required

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years minimum experience as a Class 1 HGV Driver with a C+E Licence
  • Valid CPC and digital tachograph card
  • No more than 6 points for minor offences (no IN10, DR10, DD10)
  • Good customer service and communication skills

Desirable Experience

Experience with store deliveries would be an advantage.

Training and Support

We provide training through shadow shifts for the first week and a 2-day paid company induction. The candidate must pass a 1-hour company assessment, both written and physical, to be eligible for the training.
