Job Description

This is a temporary role until estimated end of contract, working 3.15-5.45pm, Monday to Friday.

The post-holder will be expected to undertake any appropriate training provided to assist them in carrying out any of the below duties, and contribute to the protection of children and vulnerable adults, as appropriate, in accordance with any agreed policies and/or guidelines, reporting any issues or concerns.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To provide a clean, safe environment.
  • To empty all waste bins, remove refuse, and dispose of it at the designated point, ensuring the site is clean and meets health and safety requirements.
  • To clean furniture and fittings, including ledges, pipe work, and radiators, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • To clean sanitary fixtures and fittings, including lavatories, wash room facilities, and showers, ensuring areas meet required health and safety standards, and report damaged or broken facilities to staff.
  • To vacuum carpeted areas, using equipment correctly and storing it properly.
  • To clean other floor areas, such as sweeping, mopping, polishing, etc.
  • To use wet floor Health & Safety hazard signs when required to ensure staff/students' wellbeing.
  • To use floor scrubbing machines correctly, following operating procedures for personal and others' safety.
  • To assist in whole school clean during school closure, as per the school cleaning programme.
  • To check windows and doors are free from damage and closed after cleaning to ensure facilities are locked and secured.
  • To provide cover on other sections/areas of the school when necessary.
  • To maintain personal expertise and promote high expectations for the school community through their role.
  • To model values, ethos, and vision of the Trust.
  • To contribute to overall ethos, work, and aims of the Trust.
  • To maintain confidentiality regarding records, personal data, and sensitive information.
  • To attend relevant meetings as required.
  • To be aware of and comply with safeguarding, child protection, confidentiality, and data protection policies, reporting concerns to an appropriate person.
  • To show duty of care to students and staff, taking action to comply with health and safety requirements.
  • To support difference and ensure access to opportunities for learning and development.
  • To maintain good relationships with colleagues and work together as a team.
  • To appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
  • To attend training courses relevant to the post, ensuring continuing personal and professional development.
