We are seeking an Apprentice HR Professional to join our team at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. As an Apprentice HR Professional, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Learning and Engagement Team and contributing to the delivery of high-quality learning and development interventions.

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in Human Resources and be willing to learn and develop new skills as part of the HR apprenticeship programme. You will be responsible for managing your time well, being proactive in asking questions, and effectively organising, prioritising and managing administration tasks to support our busy team.

The salary for this role is £25,000 per annum, and we offer a range of benefits including a supportive work environment, opportunities for professional development, and a chance to make a real difference in the field of human health and understanding life on Earth.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible, and proactive, with good verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.

The requirements for this role include:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C (4+) or above, including English and Maths
  • No HR experience necessary, but must be willing to learn and put in the necessary work to gain the Level 3 HR apprenticeship qualification (HR Support, Level 3 standard)
  • An interest in Human Resources
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Enthusiastic, flexible and proactive
  • Ability to deal with changing priorities
