Clinical Neuropsychologist

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified clinical psychologist to develop and/or build upon existing neuropsychological and neurobehavioural skills and knowledge. This may form part of working towards the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN), and as such, funding and provision of time to do so will be considered as part of the role.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and values-driven person to join our psychology team at St Peters Hospital, a 51-bedded neuropsychiatric hospital based in Newport. The hospital caters for people with organic conditions, including dementia, Huntingtons disease, alcohol-related brain damage, and acquired brain injury.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will deliver psychological input across the hospital, working alongside a comprehensive multidisciplinary team including Senior Nurses, Consultant Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dieticians and Physiotherapists. The postholder will have a key role in informing and providing effective, evidence-based care pathways within the service.

Person Specification

We welcome applications from interested candidates who may have experience in specialties outside of neuropsychology, and would consider creating a job plan with a focus upon one or more of these particular areas. The successful candidate will provide clinical support, training and consultancy to our staff teams and there will be opportunities to inform service development.
