Senior Design Estimator Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Estimator to join our team at PEOPLE2PEOPLE RECRUITMENT (UK) LIMITED. As a Senior Design Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in optimising design and manufacturing processes, ensuring cost-effective production while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Sales Team: Define project scope and provide guidance on custom or bespoke work.
  • Maintain Supplier Relationships: Source materials and obtain competitive quotes from suppliers.
  • Analyse Production Costs: Create accurate project estimates for the sales team, including time, materials, labour, and equipment.
  • Research Suppliers and Conduct Site Visits: Assess capabilities and gather information on materials and outsourcing.
  • Generate Estimates: Use the internal ERP system to create estimates that align with company targets.
  • Interpret Technical Drawings: Prepare precise estimates from CAD drawings.
  • Ensure Smooth Project Execution: Work with production, technical, and design teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Recommend Improvements: Increase profitability while maintaining or enhancing product quality.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Manufacturing Process Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and costing.
  • ERP System Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP systems.
  • Estimating or Costing Experience: Previous experience in estimating or costing within a design or manufacturing environment, particularly in the high-end interior design sector.
  • Technical Drawing Interpretation: Ability to interpret technical drawings and prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Strong Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and spoken communication skills.
