Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is currently recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our special needs Secondary school near Emsworth. Our school caters for around 100 pupils who require a personalised curriculum to meet their moderate learning needs, physical, sensory and language challenges, many of whom may be on the Autism Spectrum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working under the guidance of an experienced teacher to support the learning and development of students with special educational needs.
  • Providing targeted interventions to small groups of KS3 and 4 children to help them overcome learning challenges.
  • Supporting teachers in assessing student progress and developing strategies to improve outcomes.
  • Creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child can flourish and reach their full potential.
  • Safeguarding the welfare of the children and ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education.
