Job Title: Mechanical CAD Designer
At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Mechanical CAD Designer, you'll play a key role in our Cavendish Nuclear business, which is responsible for decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, and operating and building nuclear power plants.
The Role
As a Mechanical CAD Designer, you'll have a unique opportunity to create cutting-edge designs, lead on project delivery, and provide solutions to our clients. You'll work collaboratively with our Design and other functional teams to achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain design documents throughout the design lifecycle, following ISO standards and meeting time, cost, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with Design and other functional teams to achieve project goals.
- Develop innovative design solutions and solutions to manufacturing/installation issues.
- Assist senior designers with a range of activities, including estimates, quality control, and test procedures.
- Fulfill Design Lead responsibilities for single-discipline low-risk projects.
- Maintain expertise in best practices across the design lifecycle, including customs and standards, and company policies (health & safety, diversity, etc.).
Requirements
- You'll be someone who owns and delivers, champions high performance, and is courageous to challenge the status quo.
- You'll have knowledge of CAD tools and General Engineering Drawing Practice.
- You'll be able to build strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- You'll have a minimum HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
