We invite qualified Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) and Registered Nurses to join our enthusiastic obstetric/general theatre team at our esteemed trust. After completing a designated training period, our ODPs and Registered Nurses assist as integral members of the Theatre team, functioning as anaesthetic/recovery practitioners or scrub practitioners. As exemplary role models, our ODPs and Registered Nurses enhance their skills and capabilities to oversee and devise evidence-based interventional care for patients, transitioning from close supervision to proximal supervision.

The operating department at our facility comprises 20 inpatient theatres within the Centre, along with a recovery area in the main theatres and a recovery area in the paediatric day facility. Additionally, The Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, features 6 main inpatient theatres (including obstetrics) and the Surgical Day Unit (1 GA & 1 minor ops theatre).

The theatres deliver surgical services across various clinical specialties, including:

- General Surgery

- Gynaecology

- Urology

- MRI

- Plastic Surgery

- Orthopaedics

- Maxillofacial

- ECT

- Neurosurgery

- ENT

- Obstetrics

- Neuro x-ray

- Paediatrics

- Emergency

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides leadership and improvement training for all new staff members. Degree or Diploma in Nursing Registered General Nurse Current NMC Registration

Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS)
