We invite qualified Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) and Registered Nurses to join our enthusiastic obstetric/general theatre team at our esteemed trust. After completing a designated training period, our ODPs and Registered Nurses assist as integral members of the Theatre team, functioning as anaesthetic/recovery practitioners or scrub practitioners. As exemplary role models, our ODPs and Registered Nurses enhance their skills and capabilities to oversee and devise evidence-based interventional care for patients, transitioning from close supervision to proximal supervision.

Additionally, The Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, features 6 main inpatient theatres (including obstetrics) and the Surgical Day Unit (1 GA & 1 minor ops theatre).
The theatres deliver surgical services across various clinical specialties, including:
- General Surgery

- Neurosurgery
- ENT
- Obstetrics
- Neuro x-ray
- Paediatrics

Leadership and Improvement Training
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides leadership and improvement training for all new staff members. This training program is designed to assist our leaders in enhancing their understanding of leadership and management skills.
