Job Title: Senior Development Planner

Salary: £48,000 - £74,000, plus £6,000 car allowance, bonus, and enhanced company benefits.

Location: Leeds

A leading player in the UK's land promotion sector is seeking an exceptional Senior Development Planner to join their growing Northern Team. With over 35 years of expertise in land assembly, strategic promotion, and project delivery, this company excels in creating sustainable and profitable development outcomes across residential, commercial, and mixed-use sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage the planning and promotion of strategic land projects.
  2. Prepare and submit planning applications and appeals with precision.
  3. Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and consultants to drive project success.
  4. Monitor and influence local planning policies and frameworks to align with strategic goals.
  5. Provide expert advice on complex planning and development matters.
  6. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  7. Identify and assess potential development sites for maximum impact.
  8. Manage key projects throughout the promotion process, showcasing strong leadership skills.
  9. Cultivate strong relationships with consultants, local authorities, and landowners.
Requirements:
  1. Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  2. Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent.
  3. Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the private sector.
  4. In-depth knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy.
  5. Demonstrated success in managing planning applications and appeals effectively.
  6. Outstanding communication, negotiation, presentation, and project management skills.
  7. Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritise with confidence.
  8. A proactive team player who can also excel independently.
