Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pediatrician Specialist to join our team at the National Health Service (NHS). As a leading healthcare provider, we are committed to delivering high-quality patient care and improving health outcomes.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist care to children with disabilities and developmental delays. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Health Visitors, GPs, schools, and nurseries, to provide comprehensive support to children and their families.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead on autism assessments in Hackney Ark Complex Communication Clinics for children under 5 years old.
  • Provide a weekly multidisciplinary neurodevelopment clinic for the assessment and management of children with developmental delays and disabilities at the Hackney Ark.
  • Support Health Visitors, GPs, schools, and nurseries to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Attend Multi-agency Referral weekly meeting (MARS) to discuss child protection cases.

Child Protection:

  • Take an active role in assessing and managing child protection concerns, including abuse, neglect, and fabricated illness.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold MBBS or equivalent degree.
  • Be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and have CCT/Paediatrics qualification.
  • Have subspecialty recognition in community paediatrics and/or neurodisability.
  • Possess experience in working with children with disabilities and higher specialist training in Community Child Health or Neurodisability.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Able to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate special knowledge relevant to community paediatrics in an inner city area of high deprivation.
  • Accreditation in standardised developmental assessment tools, such as Griffiths.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is £85,000 - £115,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, annual leave, and opportunities for professional development.
