Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Microbiologist Consultant to join our team at Whittington Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a bedless consult service, covering the OPAT service, and offering out-of-hours advice to medical students.

Main Duties of the Job

The appointee will work as a member of a team within Microbiology, demonstrating flexibility, innovation, and careful resource management. A key role will be to assist with the delivery of undergraduate education, teaching Y4 UCL clinical students within module 4C.

Person Specification

  • Full GMC Registration
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) or CESR or European Community Rights
  • An appropriate higher Medical Microbiology qualification

Desirable Qualifications

  • Interest in infection diagnosis, management, or treatment, or an aspect of medical or scientific expertise that benefits patients or wider healthcare
  • Understanding of the scientific method as applied to healthcare research and a willingness to engage in recruitment and good clinical practice
