Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Handyperson - Fire Alarm Tester to join our team at Kingston University Service Company. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for testing and maintaining fire alarm systems across our university estate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test fire alarm systems on a weekly basis and record results for the Building's Fire Safety logbooks and Nimbus.
  • Develop good working knowledge of different alarm panels and establish contact with fire wardens on each site.
  • Ensure the weekly timetable is followed and report any faults detected in the expected operation of the fire alarms.
  • Monitor the state of fire precautions and report problems to the KUSCO FM Helpdesk.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of fire safety regulations and experience in testing and maintaining fire alarm systems. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
