Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the finance team, providing leadership and direction.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing team to ensure all standards are followed.
  • Supervise the accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and income audit functions.
  • Ensure the monthly payroll is carried out with a high level of accuracy and in line with company policies and SOPs.
  • Handle the annual submission of the hotel's PAYE Settlement Agreement.
  • Ensure all Finance Operations comply with Internal Audit policies.
  • Ensure all Finance Operations comply with applicable legislation and external audit requirements.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring efficient completion, and managing the month-end process.
  • Oversee the cash flow process.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and control procedures.
  • Participate in the recruitment and training of new colleagues.
  • Review and complete monthly P&L reports, conducting monthly Balance Sheet reviews, and reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Submit quarterly/monthly VAT returns within the deadlines set by HMRC.
  • Partner with operational and support departments.
  • Ensure a strong control environment within the hotel.
  • Review and authorize POs and expenses as required by company policy.
  • Review and authorize all refunds and allowances.
  • Review and approve banking transactions within approved authorization limits.
  • Assist in financial audit preparation in conjunction with the group reporting manager.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £65,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including:

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An accounting qualification – preferred not required
  • A great attitude with a willingness to learn and make your mark
  • Enjoy managing a team and developing those around you
  • Be ambitious and eager to develop your career in luxury hospitality
  • Work closely with the Director of Finance & Business Support and the Executive team to drive the success of the business
  • Be a finance expert, preferably a qualified accountant with up-to-date knowledge and practice in all accounting practices
