Job Title: Head of Trading Systems and Connectivity

Marex Spectron is a leading global financial services platform, providing essential liquidity, market access, and infrastructure services to clients in the energy, commodities, and financial markets.

The Group offers a comprehensive range of services, including Market Making, Clearing, Hedging, and Investment Solutions, as well as Agency and Execution. With a strong presence in major metals, energy, and agricultural products, Marex Spectron executes around 50 million trades and clears 205 million contracts annually.

The successful candidate will manage the team responsible for technical client onboarding and project management. This involves partnering with departments across Marex Spectron to provide technical trading support to all front-office, real-time trading, and market data systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the business onboarding lead for new screen-based and FIX connectivity clients, collaborating closely with the end client to capture requirements and provide feedback to internal teams and vendors.
  • Monitor client algorithmic trading flow, take ownership of trading issues, and understand their potential underlying P&L impact.
  • Lead ongoing review of manual processes to identify improvements, including keeping Exchange connection IDs clean, consolidating ISVs and connections, and administering review of all internal IDs.
  • Manage growth and development of the Trading Systems and Connectivity team, including performance management, training, and mentoring/coaching.
  • Conduct conformance testing and front-end functionality UAT testing.
  • Assist with new system functionality analysis and implementation.
  • Assist with exchange reporting and compliance audits.
  • Own manual ticketing booking by utilizing tools to track IE (JIRA).
  • Help with system outage management for client trades.
  • Liaise between technology departments and other business groups to communicate changes.
  • Assist with ongoing review of manual processes, including reporting to identify improvements and automation opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Extended experience in FIX connectivity and institutional platforms catering to CTAs, hedge funds, institutional clients, etc.
  • Technical knowledge of Fidessa GTP and associated benchmark algos, SOT, and ESOs.
  • Working knowledge of Fix Messaging Protocol with hands-on experience.
  • Experience monitoring and reacting accordingly to client algorithmic trading flow.
  • 5+ years of experience working with front-end systems and admin tools, including CTS, TT, Fidessa, CME Direct/Clearport, etc.
  • Excellent working knowledge of database queries and Excel for Compliance audits and management reporting.
  • 5+ years of experience with high-frequency technologies within a demanding client base.
  • 3+ years of experience with client onboarding for both Fix and API protocols.
  • Dynamic work ethic, with the ability to adapt to changing electronic trading environments.
  • Ability to proactively learn new technology, platforms, or requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

  • Comfortable with shift coverage between 7:00am and 5:30pm (to cover hours) Mon-Fri, with occasional needs for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage.
