Job Summary:
We are looking for an Automation Controls Specialist to support our client, a prominent food manufacturer in the West Midlands region. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in electrical maintenance, PLC programming, and automation control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist shift maintenance engineers with electrical tasks, including fault diagnostics and breakdown repairs.
- Provide technical support for automation, PLCs, and control systems across all areas of manufacturing.
- Collaborate with the control manager on continuous improvements and upgrades of site PLC systems, automation, and robotics.
- Manage site electrical compliance, ensuring adherence to legislation, documentation, and reporting requirements.
- Become the site Electrical Duty Holder once trained.
Requirements:
- Must be an electrical biased engineer or controls technician.
- Ideal candidates will have worked in food manufacturing or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Possess PLC electrical fault finding skills.
- Ideal HNC/HND qualified in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualified electrically.
- Apprenticeship trained.
- Strong electrical skills - safety, isolation, LOTO.
- Experience with control panels - wiring, build, installation, FAT.
- Knowledge of electrical compliance, legislation & standards.

- A total of 12hr Shifts - 4on 4off Perm Days (7am-7pm).
