North East, United Kingdom The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a leading regional centre for complex foot and ankle surgery, providing opportunities for advanced physiotherapy care.

As an Advanced Specialist Physiotherapist in Orthopaedics, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team comprising consultant surgeons, specialist nursing, podiatry, and physiotherapy colleagues.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-standard physiotherapy care to complex patients in specialty clinics and day units.
  • Offering advisory services to patients, families, healthcare professionals, and the medical community.
  • Developing and delivering specialist education and training to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Contributing to research within the specialist area and driving service and quality improvement initiatives.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with highly specialist clinicians, develop your skills in gait assessment, and contribute to the research agenda of the department.

We are committed to flexible working arrangements, ensuring our staff can work in a way that best suits their needs and those of our patients.

This is a fixed-term role focusing on gait assessment, but there may be opportunities to extend the position or explore additional responsibilities in line with existing advanced physiotherapists.

Our trust oversees approximately 6,500 patient contacts daily, delivering high-quality healthcare from various sites across the region.

You will have the chance to work collaboratively with colleagues across MSK teams and with specialist nurses to assess pre-admission needs.

With a comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary (£54,184 - £67,849 per annum), we offer an attractive employment opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist looking to take on new challenges.

Key Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Physiotherapy or related fields.
  • Experience in advanced physiotherapy care, particularly in orthopaedics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
