Farrar Levin Legal Recruitment is seeking to recruit a Data Protection & Cyber lawyer with 2 or more years' PQE for their client, a commercial law firm in the City.

The successful candidate will join the Data and Cyber team which is part of the firm's Technology, Information, and IP department. The work is primarily non-contentious and the focus is on advisory work, contracts, and strategic advice to clients seeking to comply with data protection, privacy, AI, and cyber requirements.

The teams' clients usually operate at an international level so you need to be able to support on global privacy projects. The work will involve understanding the EU and UK regulatory landscapes and a knowledge of other privacy laws is desirable but not essential.

The role will also involve client contact. Depending on your experience, you will be expected to conduct meetings/calls independently, as well as under supervision. In addition, you will often be the primary point of contact when liaising with foreign counsel where appropriate.

You will provide expert legal advice on data protection and privacy laws, all other areas of new digital regulation, and cybersecurity matters to a diverse clientele, including multinational corporations, technology, digital media, and life sciences companies and financial institutions.

Ideally, you will have experience of advising on EU and UK digital regulation specifically from the data, privacy, and AI side.

Key Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years' PQE in data protection and cyber law.
  • Strong understanding of EU and UK regulatory landscapes.
  • Ability to support on global privacy projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about working with clients to understand their needs and develop practical solutions. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritise tasks effectively.

In return, our client offers a competitive salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including pension scheme, life insurance, and annual leave.
